Trinity Medical Sciences University is proud to welcome Dean Sippel as its new President. With more than 30 years of leadership experience across higher education and healthcare, Dean brings both a proven track record of success and a deep enthusiasm for Trinity’s mission.
Throughout his career, Dean has demonstrated a commitment to student success, institutional growth, and long-term sustainability. He has consistently taken on roles that required bold vision and steady execution, helping universities and organizations adapt to changing environments while keeping students at the center of every decision.
Transformative Leadership in Higher Education
As Chief Operating Officer of Strayer University and CEO of the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strategic Education, Inc., Dean oversaw initiatives that expanded access to education for working adults and career changers.
At the Jack Welch Management Institute, he helped grow the MBA program from a small start-up into a nationally ranked, student-centered business school serving more than 10,000 alumni. His leadership fostered innovation, high-quality instruction, and strong employer partnerships that continue to benefit graduates.
At Strayer University, Dean spearheaded the reopening and revitalization of 57 campuses following the pandemic, ensuring that returning students were met with stability, renewed energy, and an improved experience. His focus on operational improvements, enrollment growth, and team development contributed to the university’s long-term stability and success.
A Leader Committed to People and Possibility
Beyond operational excellence, Dean is known as a team builder, mentor, and connector. He has guided high-performing leadership teams, established new partnerships, and encouraged collaboration between institutions and industries. His ability to connect education with real-world opportunities has created pathways for students to not only earn degrees but also build meaningful careers.
Dean holds an MBA from Saint Louis University and a BA in Business Administration from Westminster College. He continues to advise education and workforce development organizations, sharing insights that shape the future of learning.

As he begins his tenure at Trinity Medical Sciences University, Dean is eager to build upon the school’s strengths—personalized education, early clinical experience, and a supportive community—while exploring new opportunities for growth.
