MD Program Clinical Transition Term

After 16 months studying medicine in the Caribbean, you’ll transition to Warner Robins, GA, for the clinical transition portion of your MD program, including comprehensive USMLE Step 1 prep.

Trinity's Step Prep Integrated Systems Review is a comprehensive, 7-week program meticulously crafted to equip students for success on the USMLE Step 1 exam. This fully immersive review is tailored to address the unique needs of students as they prepare for clinical rotations. Additionally, our program includes the Kaplan Step 1 Prep Review, offering students access to top-tier resources and expert guidance to enhance their exam preparation.

Trinity students have an array of resources available to them during Term 5. The Medical Education Center provides 7,000 square feet of study space with acoustically soundproof study rooms providing a quiet, distraction-free environment perfect for focused work, private meetings, or group collaboration. This study space allows our clinical faculty and student study groups to freely embody our team approach to the rigors of USMLE Step 1 preparation and clinical skills demonstration. Students also have access to the hospital, residency, and clinical staff from Emory Hospital Warner Robins as well as access to medical simulation labs at nearby Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC). These resources provide a truly unique clinical training environment among international medical schools.

Clinical Transition Program Highlights

Trinity School of Medicine’s MD Program clinical transition term is intentionally designed to bridge the gap between basic sciences and clinical training. Through a focused, supportive experience, students strengthen foundational knowledge, refine essential clinical skills, and receive robust USMLE Step 1 prep.

Readiness Assessments

Clinical Skills

Reviewing and refreshing clinical skills is a primary focus through active learning opportunities and essential for preparation of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).

EPA Preparation

Review of the undergraduate Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) demonstrating preparation for clinical training. This subset of the EPAs developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) focuses on the skills required to begin clerkships.

Clerkship Planning

Students work closely with the clerkship coordinator to plan their 3rd year clinical rotations list. You’ll have the opportunity to complete all core clerkships in a single location, allowing you to focus on learning, clinical skill development, and residency preparation.
